Lost

Lost was presented by Pascal and Thomas. Before begin, I want to say I don't like this series. But the presentation was quite good.

The series deals with the story of people who leave on an island after a plane accident. I don't know what I can say about this series because this one is very confused and it doesn't deals with a story. Nothing happen. Very bad series.

I think also, it wasn't a good idea to presente discontinuous episodes bacauses I didn't understant anything.

The Lost Room

The both William presented to us the series The Lost Room. Before to begin the description of the series, I have to say I think it was the best series I have seen for years. So the days after we saw the two first  episodes, I watched the others.

The series deals with common objects which have each a different power. Joe Miller, a detective, find one of them, the key (which is the most important of all), and loses his daughter (I don't say you how, I let you discover). So with trying to save his daughter, he enters in a wonderful adventure. I let you discover the series composed just with six episodes.

So to conclude, thank you William and William to make us discover this series.

Pushing Daisies

Ophelie and Benjamin presented to us Pushing Daisies. They made a presentation. Enough good to understand what the series deals with but not really interesting.

The series is a comedy. It deals with a man, Ned, who has a famous power. When he touches somebody dead, this one comes back to life and an other person die. But if he touches him for a second time, "he dies for the life".

When he was young, Ned was in love with a girl who died. Ned touches her. She came back to life but know, even if there found of each other, they can't touche them.

I think this series is the worst series I have never seen in my life. Difficult to stay waked up. So I didn't like it.

Six feet under

Fabien presented us the series Six Feet Under. The name of the series doesn’t look very funny, but that’s only a préjudice! It deals with a family of mortician. Each episodes start with the death of someone… The caracters are very lovable and the actor play perferctly ! The death is very present in this series, but it doesn’t seem terrible. That’s comedy who deals with the death, and the creator make it very well!
I advice you to Watch this series because there are a lot of new development. You can’t be boried !!

Two and a half men

Guillaume Castano and Mathieu presented us the series Two and a Half Men. This series is an american comedy. It talk about the life of Charly Harper,  a middle age single who lives with his brother and his son.
This series is very funny, but after few episodes, you can stop watch it, there will be no surprise any more. I advice you to Watch the first season, because the humour  is very good, and the actor play well, but no more…
Good series with good jokes but be carful to not be boried.

Malcom

Malcom was presented by Laurent. He made a good presentation even if I think the character's description was too long.

Malcom is an American comedy which deals with the story of Malcom. Malcom is a boy so clever who lives in a crazy family. This series deals with the life of this boy. In this series, an episode is related to one day (sometimes two) of Malcom's life.

The family is composed by the two parents and four children. Even if Malcom is very intelliget, the other members of the family are not really. All the children are as crazy as their parents.


I think Malcom is a good series, it is more popular than it has to be.

Friends

Willy and Florent presented us Friends, the very famous american series. Everyone knows Friend, nobody can tell « I’ve never watched a espisode of Friends.. ». This talk about the life of a group of « Friends ». This series is hilarious, there are some jokes all the times ! And the caracters are very good.
This is a mythic series of the 90’s.  I like to Watch it because there are lot of crazy actions and the caracters are very friendly. Each have a true personality and that’s why the series is very créative after more and more épisodes…
Just Watch it and enjoy !

Chuck

Corentin prensented us Chuck. This an american series. Chuck is a geek who works in a computer shop. But he receive an e-mail with a lot of informations of the CIA and when opened it, all the information was copy into his mind ! He become a real hard drive, but alive! After that why two agents of the CIA want to pick up him, to keep the information and to protect him. Chuck become as a secret agent, and he can’t tell what happened to his friends…
This is a very good series, with humour, action, and sentiments. The caracters seem friendly and they are real. The creator make a good deal because he mix the action with the fun.

The Big Bang Theory

     The Big Bang Theory is an American comedy series created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady. This is the story of four scientists who do some crazy actions.

      Adel and Jerôme presented us this series whitch is absolutely hilarious. It was easy to understand the context and the relationship between the different characters because the presentation was complete. The fact that there are only four main characters make us understand the story easily.

      These episodes were very funny with a lot of memorable actions. We noticed that the actors played really great and that's why this series is one the best that we have seen since the beginning of September.

Stargate SG1

   
   Stargate SG1 is a military science-fiction series created by  Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner. This is the story of a commando called SG-1 who accomplish some missions in all the whole universe. They travel through a stargate.

   Kevin and David have presented us this seriesto and they showed us two episodes. During the presentation we have directly understood that there was a very complex script with a lot of different kinds of characters. In fact there are some humans, and several kinds of aliens. It was difficult to understand the relationship between the different characters because there are some  alliances and wars and we didn't know what was the role of each.

   The episodes were almost boring because there was a lot of action, but what for? The jokes was too flat and the script of each episode wasn't very logical. For example the time loop was very simplify ied  y and very paradox ical.

   To conclude this series has not a great interest but if you have nothing to do better, you can watch an episode, but not two..

The A Team

    The A Team is an old American series with a lot s of actions, of jokes and of memorable actions. This is the stories of four ex-United States Army who work for the american government.

    Robin and Romain have presented the series "The A Team". Everybody was very impatient to watch an episode of The A Team again, because it is a famous series of the 80's. But there has been a real disenchantment because this series has lost its look since the 80's. The special effects are horrible and the script is disappointing : they are always shooting, they make a plan with some scotch-tape, they dig a giant hole in the ground in a few minutes and they resi st against more than 20 enemies...
    Fortunately Robin and Romain have made a funny presentation with some jokes and they made us sing the A Team soundtrack.

     To conclude, in order to appreciate this e s pisode we had to see this as a big joke of 40 minutes. We were was directly in the atmosphere thanks to Romain and Robin

SCRUBS

Scrubs is a series which tells us the story of a group of  interns (in the first
three seasons) in the medical world. It is a very funny comedy in which all characters have their importance.

We saw three episodes. First we saw the 4th episode of the first season and we stretched to the 5th episode of the fifth season in which the interns are doctors.

Edouard and I saw some episodes before and we knew the series but we think that Julien and Sahra (the broadcasters) made a good choice regarding the selection. We also appreciated the characters' description even if we think it was a little long. But we agreed it was very difficult to make it shorter, conscious of the importance of all characters.

THE X-FILES

Edouard and I presented the series "X-Files". It is a Science Fiction TV show broadcast in the 90's. The main character Mulder and Scully are two FBI Special Agents who investigate on unsolved cases called the "X-Files" ...

We presented the 5th episode of the 5th season called: "POST-MODERN PROMETHEUS". You can note the reference to "Frankenstein" written by Mary Shelley which is subtitled "Post Modern Prometheus". Indeed f, this episode appropriates the Frankenstein legend. It’s not a legend. It’s a Gothic novel from Mary Shelley. Mulder and Scully discover a mad scientist who made experiments on animals and humans and a monster on which they make their investigation.

This episode is very different from the other episodes because it changes from the usual atmosphere of the series. This one was in black and white and deals with a legend. It is very unusual in an "X-Files" episode and that's very interesting to see something different from what everybody knows ...

THE TUDORS

 The Tudors is a series about Henry VIII.

During the lesson, we saw two episodes of the series. The principal actors we saw are Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (Henry VIII) and Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn).

The first one deals with the meeting between Henry VIII and François I. We saw have seen the wish of Henry VIII to be the greatest king in the World. This episode also tells the meeting of Henry VIII with Anne Boleyn. The king had fallen in love since he saw her.

The second episode dose deals with the end of Anne Boleyn who lost the king's love because she can't offer him a boy. At the end, she had a miscarriage. The child was a boy but he was awful. So she was accused of being  unfaithful to her husband, Henry VIII. The king decided to behead her but he had the kindness to get in the Calais executioner who was the one who beheaded with a sword.

For our own part, we are not fond of the Tudors, even if we are very interested in Henry VIII‘s life. We think the story is too long and wastes time on details which are not so important. We saw before the film: "Two sisters for a king" which deals with the same story and we think the film is better than the series. But we don't think it was due to the badness of the Tudors series but it is simply the difference between a series and a film. For those who loved the Tudors series, we advise you to see this film and to give us your view point ...
